Five-Star Elite Sophomore True Freshman PG 2025 Recruit Emilee Skinner Chooses Duke Committed To Blue Devils Women Basketball Edging Out Kentucky,Kansas and Louisville

Emilee Skinner, a highly sought-after five-star recruit in the class of 2025, has officially committed to the Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball program. The standout point guard, who is known for her exceptional ball-handling, court vision, and scoring ability, has been a target for several top-tier programs, but ultimately chose Duke over offers from Kentucky, Kansas, and Louisville.

Skinner, a true freshman for the 2025 season, has quickly risen to the top of the recruiting ranks due to her impressive performances on the high school circuit and in AAU basketball. With her combination of size, skill, and basketball IQ, she has drawn comparisons to some of the best point guards in recent memory. Standing at 5’10”, she brings versatility and leadership to the floor, making her a perfect fit for Duke’s fast-paced, up-tempo style of play under head coach Kara Lawson.

Throughout her recruitment, Skinner has been the subject of intense scrutiny, with major programs like Kentucky, Kansas, and Louisville all vying for her services. Kentucky, known for its competitive women’s basketball program, was considered one of the top contenders, along with Kansas, which has seen a rise in its basketball program in recent years. Louisville, another powerhouse in the women’s game, also made a strong push for Skinner’s commitment, but ultimately, it was Duke that won out.

One of the key factors in Skinner’s decision to commit to the Blue Devils was the coaching staff, led by Lawson. Lawson, a former WNBA star and seasoned coach, has proven herself to be a capable leader who understands how to develop players both on and off the court. Skinner has expressed admiration for Lawson’s approach to player development and the Blue Devils’ commitment to excellence in every aspect of the game.

In addition to the coaching staff, Duke’s prestigious academic reputation and the school’s strong emphasis on balancing athletics with academics were also significant factors in Skinner’s decision-making process. With a rich history of success in both basketball and academics, Duke provided Skinner with the ideal environment to continue her growth as both a player and a student.

As Skinner heads into her freshman year, she is expected to have an immediate impact on the Blue Devils’ lineup and help them compete for national titles in the coming years. With her commitment, Duke solidifies its position as one of the elite programs in women’s college basketball.
