Breaking: No. 1 Notre Dame Keeps Its Intensity and Winning Streak Alive, Rolls Past Miami 82-42, Remains Perfect in ACC

Top-ranked Notre Dame continued its dominant run through the ACC, dismantling Miami 82-42 in a statement victory on Wednesday night. The Fighting Irish remain unbeaten in conference play, showcasing their depth, discipline, and relentless energy in yet another blowout win.

From the opening tip, Notre Dame asserted its dominance, overwhelming Miami with suffocating defense and an efficient offensive attack. The Irish stormed to an early double-digit lead and never looked back, holding the Hurricanes to just 17 first-half points. Their defensive pressure forced Miami into multiple turnovers, capitalizing on mistakes to build an insurmountable advantage.

Leading the charge was star forward Olivia Miles, who delivered a stellar all-around performance. Miles finished with 18 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds, orchestrating Notre Dame’s offensive rhythm while anchoring the defense. Freshman standout Hannah Hidalgo also made a significant impact, adding 16 points and 5 steals as she disrupted Miami’s backcourt throughout the night.

Notre Dame’s bench played a crucial role in maintaining the high level of intensity, with contributions from Sonia Citron and Maddy Westbeld, who combined for 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team’s depth has been a defining factor in their continued success, allowing them to wear down opponents over four quarters.

Miami, on the other hand, struggled to find any offensive consistency. The Hurricanes shot just 29% from the field and failed to counter Notre Dame’s aggressive defensive schemes. Their leading scorer, Jasmyne Roberts, was held to just 8 points as the Irish defense smothered every offensive effort.

With this victory, Notre Dame extends its ACC winning streak and solidifies its position as the team to beat in the conference. Head coach Niele Ivey praised her team’s focus and execution, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their momentum as they push deeper into the season.

Next up, the Irish face a tough road test against a ranked opponent, where they will look to continue their unbeaten march and cement their status as national title contenders. With each commanding performance, Notre Dame proves why they are the No. 1 team in the nation, leaving little doubt about their championship aspirations.
