The University of Southern California (USC) Trojans have bolstered their defensive lineup with the addition of defensive end Jadyn Ramos from Conroe High School in Texas. Ramos officially signed with USC on February 5, 2025, as announced by head coach Lincoln Riley.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Ramos delivered an impressive senior season, recording 73 tackles, including 36.5 for loss with 18 sacks, leading the Greater Houston Area. He also forced four fumbles and recovered one. His performance earned him the 2024 District 13-6A Defensive Player of the Year award and a spot on the All-Greater Houston First Team.
Despite his standout high school career, Ramos was rated as a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 68 edge rusher nationally by ESPN and the No. 84 player in Texas. His recruitment saw interest from programs like Kansas State, Pittsburgh, and Kansas, but USC’s offer in early January 2025 led to an official visit in mid-January, culminating in his commitment.
Ramos joins a USC 2025 recruiting class that includes fellow defensive linemen Floyd Boucard, Gus Cordova, Cash Jacobsen, and five-star recruit Jahkeem Stewart. This infusion of talent aims to strengthen USC’s defensive front as they transition into the Big Ten Conference.
USC’s recruitment strategy under Coach Riley emphasizes both high-profile and under-the-radar talent, focusing on player development. Ramos’s high school coach, Cedric Hardeman, praised him as “the BEST DE in the state,” highlighting his potential impact at the collegiate level.
While Ramos’s recruitment may not have garnered widespread media attention, his on-field production and physical attributes suggest he could be a significant contributor to USC’s defense in the coming years.
