Under the leadership of head coach Dusty May, the Michigan Wolverines have made significant strides in bolstering their basketball roster with top-tier talent. Among the notable additions is four-star guard Winters Grady, who committed to Michigan for the 2025-26 season.
Grady, rated No. 83 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings, has showcased his skills at Prolific Prep alongside Kansas commit Darryn Peterson. Known for his prowess in transition, accurate three-point shooting, and exceptional court vision, Grady is adept at both scoring and facilitating plays. His ability to create shots off the dribble distinguishes him, although refining his release point could further enhance his offensive effectiveness. Defensively, adjusting to the pace and agility of Big Ten guards will be a challenge, but his potential to excel in Michigan’s ball screen-heavy offense is promising.
In addition to Grady, Michigan secured commitments from five-star guard Trey McKenney and four-star forward Oscar Goodman. McKenney, a Flint, Michigan native, is ranked No. 16 in the ESPN 100 for the 2025 class. He cited Michigan as his dream school and expressed confidence in Coach May’s system, which emphasizes positionless, fast-paced basketball. Goodman, hailing from New Zealand, adds international flair and versatility to the Wolverines’ lineup.
These strategic recruitments reflect Coach May’s commitment to revitalizing Michigan’s basketball program by attracting top talent and fostering a dynamic, competitive team environment.
