Gonzaga University’s head coach, Mark Few, was not selected for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025, despite his remarkable coaching career. The Hall of Fame’s selection committee did not publicly disclose specific reasons for his omission. However, it’s noteworthy that the 2025 class included only one coach, Billy Donovan, a two-time NCAA champion with Florida and current NBA coach.
Few’s credentials are impressive: he has the highest winning percentage among active Division I head coaches and has led Gonzaga to 26 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including two National Championship games. His accolades include two Naismith Coach of the Year awards and 14 West Coast Conference Coach of the Year honors.
The omission has sparked discussions among basketball analysts and fans. Greg Heister, a prominent sports commentator, expressed that it’s time to honor Few while he’s still active in the sport.
While the exact reasons for Few’s exclusion remain undisclosed, his continued success and contributions to college basketball suggest that his induction into the Hall of Fame is likely a matter of time.
