Indiana University women’s basketball coach Teri Moren and her staff have secured a significant addition to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of five-star point guard Nevaeh Caffey from Incarnate Word Academy in Saint Louis, Missouri. Caffey, standing at 5-foot-10, is recognized for her exceptional facilitating skills, defensive prowess, and versatility on the court.
During her junior season, Caffey averaged 13.9 points, three rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, contributing to Incarnate Word’s remarkable 129-game winning streak and three consecutive Missouri Class 6 State Championships. Her high school coach, Dan Rolfes, praised her competitive nature and calm demeanor, noting her ability to maintain composure regardless of game Circumstances.
Caffey’s commitment to Indiana came shortly after her official visit to Bloomington in late February 2024. She had previously received offers from several other programs, including Kansas, Mississippi State, Marquette, Michigan, Missouri, Pitt, and Oklahoma, but ultimately chose Indiana for its alignment with her academic and athletic aspirations.
She joins fellow guard Maya Makalusky from Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana, as the second member of Indiana’s 2025 recruiting class. Makalusky, a 6-foot-3 guard, committed to the Hoosiers in June 2023, bringing a strong scoring ability and in-state talent to the program.
Coach Teri Moren, who has been at the helm since 2014, has consistently emphasized recruiting players who fit the program’s culture of hard work and team-first mentality. Under her leadership, Indiana has achieved multiple 20-win seasons and has become a consistent presence in the NCAA Tournament. Moren’s contract was extended in June 2023 through the 2028-29 season, reflecting the university’s commitment to sustaining the program’s success.
The addition of Caffey and Makalusky to the 2025 class underscores Indiana’s dedication to building a competitive roster capable of contending at the highest levels of women’s college basketball.
