Ohio State University has secured a significant commitment from five-star quarterback Brady Edmunds for its 2027 recruiting class. Edmunds, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound talent from Huntington Beach, California, is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect and the No. 2 quarterback in his class.
Edmunds chose the Buckeyes over notable programs, including Texas, Penn State, and Michigan. His decision was influenced by deep family ties to Ohio State; his grandfather, originally from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, attended the university and instilled a passion for the Buckeyes in Edmunds from a young age.
Ohio State extended an offer to Edmunds in June 2024 after an impressive performance at a recruiting camp. Reflecting on the offer, Edmunds said, “I mean, at first, I was honestly speechless.”
In his sophomore season, Edmunds showcased his dual-threat capabilities, completing 217 of 348 passes for 3,222 yards and 36 touchdowns, along with nine rushing touchdowns. His versatility and athleticism make him a valuable addition to Ohio State’s future offensive plans.
Edmunds is the second commitment in Ohio State’s 2027 class, joining five-star wide receiver Jamier Brown from Huber Heights, Ohio. The early commitments of such high-caliber players position the Buckeyes favorably in the national recruiting rankings for the 2027 cycle.
Looking ahead, Edmunds plans to enroll early at Ohio State and has expressed a desire to actively recruit other top talents to join him in Columbus. He stated, “I’m going to develop there, that’s for sure. There’s a reason they also have the best quarterback room in the country right now.”
With Edmunds’ commitment, Ohio State continues its tradition of attracting elite quarterback talent, ensuring the program remains competitive on the national stage in the coming years.
