Tiger’s Report: Kim Mulkey’s Staff, LSU Women’s Basketball Hosts No. 5 Ranked Player in America

LSU Women’s Basketball, under the leadership of head coach Kim Mulkey, is intensifying its recruitment efforts to secure top-tier talent for future seasons. A focal point of these efforts is Caroline Bradley, a 6-foot-5 five-star forward from Oak Grove, Louisiana, who is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Bradley’s exceptional sophomore season has garnered attention from premier women’s basketball programs nationwide. Despite this widespread interest, LSU appears to have a competitive edge, leveraging its proximity and the appeal of representing a home-state institution. Bradley has made multiple unofficial visits to Baton Rouge, immersing herself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center during game days.

Demonstrating their commitment, LSU’s assistant coach Kaylin Rice recently attended one of Bradley’s playoff games to observe her performance firsthand and engage in face-to-face discussions. This visit underscores the program’s proactive approach to nurturing relationships with prospective players.

LSU’s track record of retaining top Louisiana talent is notable. The program successfully secured commitments from Mikaylah Williams, the state’s No. 1 player in the 2023 recruiting cycle, and Jada Richard, the top player in the 2024 cycle. While the 2025 class did not include a Louisiana recruit, it featured a quartet of five-star prospects: Divine Bourrage, ZaKiyah Johnson, Grace Knox, and Bella Hines.

The 2026 recruiting cycle currently lacks a Louisiana player in the ESPN Top 60 rankings, but the 2027 cycle presents an opportunity with Bradley emerging as a standout prospect. LSU’s focused efforts to secure her commitment reflect the program’s dedication to maintaining a pipeline of elite local talent.

As the recruiting process unfolds, LSU’s strategic engagement with Bradley highlights the program’s commitment to excellence and its intent to remain a dominant force in women’s college basketball. Securing a player of Bradley’s caliber would not only bolster the team’s future performance but also reinforce LSU’s reputation as a premier destination for top basketball talent.
