In a major recruiting victory, Ohio State has secured a commitment from 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis, a rising star in the 2026 class, following his recent decommitment from Georgia. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 225 pounds, Curtis is a highly touted prospect known for his impressive arm strength, athleticism, and leadership on the field. His decision to flip from Georgia to Ohio State signals a major shift in the 2026 quarterback race and further solidifies the Buckeyes’ position as one of the top programs in college football.

Curtis had initially pledged to Georgia earlier in his recruitment, but his recent decommitment sent shockwaves through the recruiting world. His decision to reopen his recruitment was driven by a desire to explore other options, and Ohio State quickly emerged as a prime destination. After visiting the Buckeyes’ campus and engaging in conversations with head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline, Curtis felt that Ohio State’s offensive system and its reputation for developing top-tier quarterbacks aligned with his goals.

Standing out among quarterbacks in his class, Curtis is a physical specimen with a powerful arm capable of making all the throws. His ability to read defenses, combined with his mobility in the pocket, has earned him comparisons to some of the top quarterbacks in recent college football history. During his junior season, Curtis led his high school team to the state playoffs while posting impressive statistics and showing significant improvement in his decision-making and leadership.

Ohio State, known for producing high-caliber quarterbacks, has become a top destination for signal-callers looking to develop their skills in a high-powered offense. With Ryan Day’s track record of developing quarterbacks like Justin Fields, CJ Stroud, and recent success in recruiting top prospects, Curtis is poised to follow in their footsteps and continue the Buckeyes’ legacy at the position.

This commitment is also significant for Ohio State as it continues to solidify its recruiting class for the 2026 cycle. With Curtis in the fold, the Buckeyes are expected to be even more competitive in the coming years, both in the Big Ten and on the national stage.

Curtis’ commitment further bolsters the notion that Ohio State remains a powerhouse in college football recruiting, and his presence in the class will certainly keep them in the national championship conversation for years to come.
