No.7 Guard an 16th Overall Prospect Class 2024 Cycle 5-Star Guard From Louisville Imari Berry Declared Commitment Decision To IU Women Basketball After Official Visit To the Program

Indiana Women’s Basketball has landed a major commitment from one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class. Imari Berry, a 5-star guard ranked as the No. 7 guard and 16th overall prospect in the nation, announced her decision to join the Hoosiers after an official visit to Bloomington. This decision marks a significant win for IU head coach Teri Moren and her staff, solidifying their reputation as a destination for elite talent.

Berry, a standout from Louisville, is known for her versatility, athleticism, and scoring ability. At 5’10”, she excels as a two-way guard, combining dynamic offensive skills with relentless defensive pressure. Her ability to score from all three levels, along with her court vision and basketball IQ, makes her a transformative player for the Hoosiers. She’s also praised for her leadership and work ethic, attributes that align perfectly with Indiana’s culture of toughness and discipline.

During her official visit, Berry had the chance to tour Indiana’s facilities, meet with the coaching staff, and connect with current players. The program’s success in recent seasons, including deep NCAA Tournament runs and its strong player development track record, were significant factors in her decision. “It felt like home,” Berry said. “The coaches showed they truly cared about me as a person, not just as a player. I believe IU is the best place for me to grow and reach my full potential.”

Berry’s commitment is a cornerstone addition for Indiana’s 2024 recruiting class, which continues to build on the program’s upward trajectory. The Hoosiers have consistently been a force in the Big Ten and a growing presence on the national stage under Moren’s leadership. Adding a player of Berry’s caliber positions Indiana as a contender for championships in the coming years.

For IU fans, Berry’s decision is a reason for excitement and optimism. Her combination of talent and character promises to make an immediate impact when she arrives on campus. With Berry on board, the future of Indiana Women’s Basketball looks brighter than ever.
