SAD NEWS: Worst Nightmare for the England International out of title race Bukayo Saka

Mikel Arteta has received a huge Arsenal injury boost before the Premier League clash with Bournemouth. Jurrien Timber was the only noteworthy senior absentee from the squad named to face Tottenham last weekend with no fresh worries emerging from that North London Derby win.

A victory against their bitter rivals saw Arsenal keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table with just three games to play. Pep Guardiola’s side have an extra game still to play with that arriving later this month at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In City’s most recent outing, Erling Haaland returned from injury while Ederson was subbed off as a concern. For Arteta though, he is facing a very different injury situation with his pre-Bournemouth press conference revealing a dream scenario has become reality.

With that said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Arsenal injury news before Saturday’s visit of Bournemouth to Emirates Stadium.

Timber suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury on the opening weekend of the Premier League season against Nottingham Forest, missing a large chunk of the season. The 22-year-old defender has recently returned to action, with two appearances for the Under-21s in recent weeks.

Finally, after nearly nine months on the sidelines, Timber could make his first-team return against Bournemouth – though a start is very unlikely.

Speaking on the latest edition of Frimmy’s Colney Carpool, Timber was the guest with the defender picked up in a golf buggy after training. Upon being asked if the session was light, Timber promptly replied: “Heavy, heavy, heavy.” Considering how his load has been managed in recent weeks, Timber giving such a response suggests a return is imminent.
