SAD NEWS: the combination of four wildcat players was rejected due to time factor NBA confirm

Four Kentucky players and one of the Wildcats’ top recruiting targets in the transfer portal have received invitations to the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, it was announced on Friday.

UK’s Rob Dillingham, Justin Edwards, Antonio Reeves, and Reed Sheppard, as well as BYU guard Jaxson Robinson, were among the 78 players invited to attend the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, which will take place May 12-19 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

The draft combine is an invite-only, multi-day showcase where the best draft-eligible players will participate in physical measurements, interviews, drills, medical and athletic testing, and scrimmages in front of NBA scouts and front office personnel, who will be on hand to assess individual players in preparation for the 2024 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn June 26-27.

Since 2010, no school has produced more No. 1 overall picks (3), top-10 picks (15), lottery picks (23), first round picks (35) and total NBA Draft picks (47) than Kentucky. Since the NBA went to a two-round draft in 1989, the Wildcats now have the most players drafted overall with 63, 46 of which have come in the first round. UK has also had at least one player drafted in 16 consecutive drafts, the longest active streak of any school, and a first round pick in 14 straight drafts, the longest streak in the common era. The Cats have produced multiple draft picks in 14 consecutive drafts.

Robinson, who played for new Kentucky coach Mark Pope for the last two seasons with the Cougars, declared for the 2024 NBA Draft on April 23 before announcing he would enter the transfer portal on April 27 just days ahead of the May 1 deadline.

Ranked as the No. 44 transfer by 247Sports, Robinson has until May 29 to withdraw from the draft. He is widely projected as a fringe second round pick.

As a senior last season, Robinson was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year after averaging a team-high 14.2 points while shooting 35.4% from 3-point range and 90.8% from the free throw line..

The 6-foot-7 guard scored a season-high 28 points in a win over Denver; 25 points on five made 3s in the Cougars’ NCAA Tournament loss to Duquesne, and had 18 points in an upset win at No. 7 Kansas.

Pope’s inaugural 2024 transfer class at Kentucky, which includes No. 21 Brandon Garrison (Oklahoma State), No. 28 Otega Oweh (Oklahoma), No. 45 Lamont Butler (San Diego State), No. 66 Andrew Carr (Wake Forest), No. 81 Amari Williams (Drexel), No. 104 Koby Brea (Dayton), and No. 118 Kerr Kriisa (West Virginia), is ranked No. 5 nationally by 247Sports.

Kentucky has also signed class of 2022 4-star prospect and former BYU signee Collin Chandler, who is coming off a 2-year Mormon mission as well as Kentucky Mr. Basketball, the state’s all-time leading scorer and 4-star guard Travis Perry from state champion Lyon County, bringing the total of scholarship players to nine.
