Devin Sanchez, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback from Houston’s North Shore High School, has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, solidifying his status as a top-tier recruit in the 2025 class. Ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect and the No. 2 cornerback in the ESPN 300, Sanchez chose Ohio State over offers from Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M.
Sanchez’s commitment was announced during the All-American Bowl, a prestigious high school football event that showcases elite talent. His decision to join the Buckeyes adds significant strength to Ohio State’s defensive backfield, which is already bolstered by fellow five-star recruit, quarterback Tavien St. Clair.
Throughout his high school career, Sanchez has demonstrated exceptional skills and athleticism. In his junior year, he recorded 32 tackles, 11 pass deflections, five interceptions, and one defensive touchdown, earning recognition as a first-team Junior All-American by MaxPreps.
Sanchez’s commitment is a significant boost for Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 5 nationally. The class features a strong defensive lineup, including five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord, who committed to Oregon, and defensive lineman Iose Epenesa, who chose Iowa.
As Sanchez prepares to join the Buckeyes, his combination of size, speed, and football IQ positions him to make an immediate impact on Ohio State’s defense. His commitment underscores the program’s continued success in attracting top-tier talent and its commitment to building a formidable defense for the upcoming seasons.
